Two Benefits For MOTS On July 21st

Two Fundraisers for the Troops on the same day

Anytime Fitness in Parrish has planned a great Saturday morning Open House and Benefit for Manasota Operation Troop Support (MOTS) on July 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm. It's a family friendly event that includes music and food, raffle prizes and a garage sale. There will be something for everyone.

What a great way to reach out to the community and create awareness of our troops. A big HOOAH goes out to everyone at Anytime Fitness!

The Bradentucky Bombers Roller Derby team has a family friendly event for you too later that afternoon at the Manatee Civic Center at 5:30 p.m. You will receive one free raffle ticket for every new package of socks or wet wipes that you bring for MOTS.

Part of the night's proceeds will benefit MOTS and we will have a Mail Call table set up for the community to write postcards to our troops. Thank you to all who are helping to put on this event for our troops!

If you have ever wondered if a MOTS care package really makes a difference in the daily life of a soldier or Marine, read this letter from local troop, Calvin V.

Hi Linda,

I want to thank you & the kids, and your staff, for making my stay in Afghanistan, so much easier knowing that someone cared, and took time out, to show the love of CHRIST that is in them. I am alway happy to see the box at the post office, knowing that it was from you. It wasn't what was in the box, but where it came from.

You are my family that took care of me when I really need it most. My plan is to see you face to face when I get back. I just got my last box. Please don't send any more, I will be leaving here in about 17 days. Thanks again for all your LOVE and support. Have a BLESS DAY."

Calvin V.

Are you still wondering?

How lucky our troops are to have hometown folks caring and sharing with them when they are so far from home. It makes me very proud to be a part of this community.
