Bradenton Armed Robber Left Empty Handed, Deputies Say

An armed man walked into a 7-Eleven, looked around and then left without taking anything.

BRADENTON, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery attempt that occurred in Bradenton early Tuesday morning.

According to the agency, a man with his face covered, wearing a blue hoodie and carrying a firearm walked into the 7-Eleven at 3515 53rd Ave. W. around 5:44 a.m. The man, deputies say, proceeded to look around the store, couldn’t find the store’s clerk and then left the business without taking anything.

The store’s clerk, who was reportedly watching from out of the would-be robber’s line of sight, then contacted the sheriff’s office for help.

No one was injured in the incident and nothing was taken, the sheriff’s office reported.

Further details are not available.
