According to authorities, publicly available footage of the attack showed Scott on the lower west terrace of the Capitol wearing a black ballistic vest and ski goggles. He was among thousands of others who marched to the Capitol to disrupt a joint session of Congress gathered to certify the 2020 presidential election results.
Authorities said the footage showed Scott at the front of a large crowd, yelling at U.S. Capitol Police officers defending a staircase leading to the upper west terrace of the Capitol. Authorities said Scott pushed two Capitol officers backward and up the steps.
