Bradenton Weekend Planner: Vintage Car Show, Children’s Book Fair

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are five events that you don't want to miss in Manatee County.

What: First annual “Remember When” Vintage Car Show

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Water’s Edge of Bradenton, 2015 32nd Ave. West, Bradenton

This event is free to the public. Check out classic cars while enjoying food, drinks, door prizes, giveaways and classic music from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Pre-register your vintage car by filling out this form and paying the $10 donation. Learn more about the event here.

What: Bradenton City Hall Capture

When: Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

Where: Bradenton City Hall, 101 12st Street West, Bradenton

The Crewe of Hernando De Soto will invade the city of Bradenton Saturday to kick off the 2021 De Soto Heritage Festival. The crew will land at the boat docks near Barcarrota Boulevard around 12:30 p.m., march up Old Main Street — led by a volunteer portraying Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto — and capture Mayor Gene Brown to retrieve the key to the city. What: Children’s Book Fair at Bradenton Farmer’s Market

When: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: 400 Old Main Street, Bradenton

Meet local authors and illustrators of children’s books from ABC Artisans of Books for Children and Adults. Children will also receive a take-home kit full of fun literary activities. Learn more about the event here.

What: Anna Maria Island Privateers Thieves Market and Auto Show

When: Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: DeSoto Square Mall, 303 301 Blvd. West, Bradenton

The Anna Maria Island Privateers, a band of hard-working pirates raising money for kids and the greater Manatee County community, hosts this monthly market. This is the final market of the season and features a car show, vendors, food trucks, the pirate ship and live music. Learn more here.

What: Kilt Night

When: Saturday, 7 to 10 p.m.

Where: 3 Keys Brewing, 2505 Manatee Ave. East, Bradenton

Hosted by Sarasota Highland Games, Celtic Conundrum will perform in the beer garden of this local brewery. This monthly series also features fun raffle prizes. Learn more about this event here.
