Bradenton Woman Fails To Make Cut On 'American Idol'

Bradenton resident Mylon Shamble, 24, was not among the Top 50 contestants to continue competing on "American Idol."

BRADENTON, FL -- To the disappointment of her fans, Bradenton resident Mylon Shamble, 24, was not among the Top 50 contestants to continue competing on Season 16 of American Idol.

The Top 50 contestants on the show were announced April 1 on American Idol’s Twitter page.

Despite receiving rave reviews from American Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan for her rendition of Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me,” Shamble, along with 118 other contestants, were eliminated during the Hollywood Week competition portion of the television show.

Shamble, a graduate of Lakewood Ranch High School and Florida Atlantic University, was among the contestants in Room 2 to receive the bad new from Richie.

“When I was 22, the Commodores and I went to a record company owned by two guys who said we were not what they were looking for,” Richie told the group. “It’s just timing. The time is just not now. We just can’t take everybody through.”
