Bradenton Woman Lied When Purchasing 7 Guns: DOJ

A Bradenton woman who buys and sells guns used the wrong address during purchases, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton woman plead guilty after lying when purchasing seven guns, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

Cheyenne McIntosh, 26, pleaded guilty to making a false statement on a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) form, the DOJ said.

She faces up to 10 years in federal prison and has agreed to forfeit the weapons. A sentencing date hasn’t been set yet.

Jamaican authorities recovered a gun used in a homicide on Aug. 18, 2021, according to McIntosh’s plea agreement. The gun was traced back to her and U.S. records showed that she had bought it on March 16, 2021.

Law enforcement officers tried to find McIntosh using the address she provided on the ATF form when she purchased the gun, but they were unsuccessful, the DOJ said. Officers eventually learned that McIntosh hadn't lived there for more than a year.

Officers eventually contacted McIntosh on Sept. 14, 2021. She told them that she hadn’t lived at the address she listed on her ATF form since January 2021.

She told officers that she bought and sold guns, selling 25 firearms since March 2021, and that she doesn’t track who she sells them to or conduct background checks, according to the DOJ. She said she last bought guns on Sept. 9 of that year and promised to no longer use the wrong address.

On Sept. 20, 2021, agents learned that McIntosh purchased seven guns on Sept. 14, 2021, and would be picking them up that day. They also learned that she used the same incorrect address on the ATF form when buying them, even after speaking with agents, the DOJ said.

When McIntosh picked up the guns from the story, she confirmed the address on the ATF form was correct.

Agents approached her as she left the store, and she admitted to giving the wrong address, the DOJ said.
