Break-In Suspect Nabbed In Bradenton

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 40-year-old suspect in a June home invasion burglary in St. Petersburg was arrested Tuesday in Bradenton, police said.

Clyde Mathis is accused of the June 21 break-in at a Paris Avenue home -- a crime captured on video surveillance, police said.

Mathis is charged with alleged violation of probation, home invasion, burglary and tampering with a witness.

Police said he was located and arrested on the 300 block of 1st Street East in Bradenton at 10 p.m. by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Violent Offenders Warrant squad and the Manatee County Violent Crimes Task Force, police said.

Mathis is being held on $300,000 bond and will be transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
