Senior catcher hopes to lead the Hurricanes to their third consecutive playoff berth. The SCF signee hit .452 with four home runs and 39 RBIs in 2010.

What is your best baseball moment?: Our summer team, (American Legion Kirby Stewart) Post 24, when we won the state championship (in 2009). That was awesome. Being at the bottom of a dog pile is kind of nice.

What is the worst feeling you’ve ever had on the diamond?: When we lost (3-2 to Tampa King) in the (Class 5A) regional quarterfinals last year. I wanted it so badly, and we worked our butts off. It was just sad to end it like that.

What are your goals for the 2011 season?: As a team, we definitely want to win 20 games and a district championship. Individually, I’m just looking to repeat the numbers that I had from last year.

What adjustments do you have to make to successfully transition from high school baseball to the junior college level?: The speed of the game is a big factor. Everyone is a lot bigger, faster and stronger, so it will be a big step. I just have to keep working at it.

What is your planned college major?: I haven’t really decided yet, but probably something in sports management or along those lines. That or the medical field.

Where do you see yourself in 10-15 years?: Hopefully, around (professional baseball).

Do you listen to a particular song or artist before playing a game?: I normally don’t listen to music before a game. I just usually stay to myself.

Favorite subject: I’d probably go with math.

Favorite TV show: Probably SportsCenter or the MLB Network.

Favorite entertainer: I would have to say Chris Rock.

Beside baseball, what is your favorite sport?: Football.

Is there a particular athlete that you admire? Definitely Albert Pujols. His work ethic is just unreal.
