Buy Jewelry, Get a Shotgun for the Holidays

DELAND, FL – Shoppers hoping to put a little pop into their holiday giving this year might want to chart a course to DeLand. There two mom-and-pop businesses have teamed up for a promotion that’s capturing a lot of attention.

It seems Downtown Goldsmith Jewelry and Engraving and nearby 2nd Amendment Firearms traditionally team up for an annual holiday promotion they’ve dubbed “Fire and Ice.” Customers who make eligible jewelry purchases get a free 12-gauge shotgun for their troubles. The shotgun is valued around $270 and jewelry eligible for the promotion starts at $450 and goes up to about $4,000, Fox News reported.

“We love our small town shop, our loyal customers, and the freedom to market our promotions any way we choose,” the jewelry store’s owners posted on Facebook.

In a post made on Monday, they explained the deal as meant to attract those who want to put some “bling and bang” in their holidays. The promotion, they noted, is “always a big hit.” So much so, in fact, the twofer is also offered during the busy Valentine’s Day season.

“This thing here is just making his little niche stand out,” MainStreet DeLand Association president Wayne Carter was quoted by the Daytona Beach News-Journal as saying. “It’s going to appeal to who it appeals to.”

Downtown Goldsmith Jewelry is located at 139 N. Woodland Blvd. The promotion is good only while supplies last.
