Child Found at Pool Bottom, Hospitalized in Critical Condition

BRADENTON, FL – A 2-year-old child is in critical condition this afternoon after being pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool on the 3400 block of 57 Street East in Bradenton, according to authorities.

The victim's 37-year-old father told Manatee County Sheriff's deputies he told the the boy to put on his swimsuit as he helped his other child into hers, then discovered the boy, who just celebrated his second birthday Wednesday, at the bottom of the pool shortly before noon.

The child was transported to the hospital in critical condition, and an investigation is underway, the department said.
