Cobia Make Offshore Appearance

First the first time this year, Capt. Larry McGuire of Show Me the Fish Charters sees — and catches — offshore cobia.

Capt. Larry McGuire of Show Me the Fish Charters reported cobia have come through offshore. He said on March 24 one of his anglers caught a 75-pound cobia on a top-water lure in 115 feet of water.

“That's kind of a spring-time fish that will be there until it gets cold again,” McGuire said.

He said they were out catching amberjack, snapper and sharks when schools of cobia came to the surface. The cobia hit a Zara Spook Magnum 10-inch lure.
