COVID-19 Testing Site Reopens At Bradenton Area Convention Center

The COVID-19 testing site at the Bradenton Area Convention Center closed in May and is reopening as coronavirus cases surge in Florida.

PALMETTO, FL β€” The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County is teaming up with Manatee County government to reopen the COVID-19 testing site at the Bradenton Area Convention Center at 1 Haben Blvd. in Palmetto.

The walk-up testing site will operate in the convention center’s southwest parking lot 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, the county said in a news release.

No appointment is required to get tested. Those getting tested are asked to bring proof of Florida residency, such as a state driver’s license or utility bill with a Florida address.

β€œI encourage all Manatee County residents and visitors to stay vigilant because COVID-19 is still prevalent in our community,” Public Safety Director Jacob Saur said. β€œNow is not the time to let your guard down and it’s more important than ever to continue following CDC guidelines.”

The Department of Health in Manatee County will continue to run the testing and vaccine site at the Palmetto bus station at 1802 Eighth Ave. W. in Palmetto Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
