Dad Calls Cop to Watch Spanking
The Florida man wanted to make sure there were no legal repercussions following the punishment.

When an Okeechobee father came home to a heated argument between his two 12-year-old girls, he decided one of them had earned a spanking.
Before doling out that punishment, however, the dad called in a little backup from law enforcement. It seems one of the girls locked herself in a bedroom while the other grabbed a knife and picked the lock, WPTV reported. The child with the knife, the father determined, had earned a paddling for her response to a dispute over a tablet.
Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Hall responded to the father’s, Dale Garcia’s, call on Monday, First Coast News reported. Hall stood by as Garcia delivered four spanks to the girl’s buttocks. Since no crime was committed, the deputy went on his way following the punishment, the paper reported.

Undersheriff Noel Stephen was quoted by WLWT.com as saying he’s overseen 12 spankings in his career. While the act is not something the sheriff’s office likes to advertise, it is a service they will provide on occasion.
“And even though law enforcement has been willing to help out in this situation, watching a parent discipline their child is something that’s done only when a deputy has no other calls to handle,” WPTV quoted Stephen as saying.
