DOH Site Crashes As 1,200 Vaccine Appointments Fill Up: Report
On Monday afternoon, the DOH in Manatee made new coronavirus vaccination times slots available. High demand crashed the site, reports said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — As the Department of Health in Manatee County opened registration for COVID-19 vaccination appointments Monday afternoon, the site crashed, making it difficult for many users to sign up, the Bradenton Herald reported.
Despite these technical difficulties after registration began at 2 p.m., all 1,200 available time slots for people 65 and older were filled by 3:30 p.m., reports said.
Manatee County received 3,500 doses of the Moderna vaccine from the state last week and has already distributed them all. It received an additional 1,400 Moderna doses on Monday, reports said. This new shipment will be administered Wednesday and Thursday at Tom Bennett Park at 280 Kay Road in Bradenton.
