The artwork of some of Manatee County’s most talented students will be up for bids this Saturday, January 28, 2012 when the Manatee Education Foundation hosts the 2012 HEART & SOUL Gala and Live Art Auction.
This year’s gala is the fifth-annual and more than 220 guests are expected. Summer Smith of Bay News 9 will act as the emcee and Vernon DeSear, Vice President of Manatee Memorial Hospital, will act as the auctioneer. A lengthy list of local dignitaries will be on hand, including Manatee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Tim McGonegal and Manatee Education Foundation Chair Gary Huggins. Honorary hosts of the gala are the Honorable John Chappie, Chairman of the Manatee County Commission and fellow Manatee County Commissioner Carol Whitmore.
