
A historical survey of the lives and works of African American Artists from the 19th to the 20th century. Ms. Merritt will discuss how minority artists have worked outside of “mainstream art” developing their own concepts and images; often with personal references to their own culture and beliefs.
Eleanor Merritt has a BA & MA in fine art. In addition to having over 27 one woman shows in the past 50 years, she has been an educator, served on numerous Board of Directors and is a working artist.
