S. RUSH DEAN, Bradenton acrylics and oils artist, has been chosen as Featured Artist for September at Island Gallery West. Ms. Dean has enjoyed a 20-year career teaching design, drawing and color theory at the University of Maryland and Design at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. Ms. Dean is also a longtime member of Island Gallery West and is well known in both Manatee and Sarasota counties for her bold yet tranquil landscapes. The theme of her exhibit will be "Beach Life."
Island Gallery West, located at 5368 Gulf Dr., Holmes Beach, is a co-operative of 25 local artists offering original, affordable fine art. Mediums available are watercolor, acrylic, oil and mixed-media paintings, fiber art purses, baskets, jewelry, scarves, photography, stained glass and greeting cards.
