The Occyplayers present They Got Bailed Out, We Got Sold Out at 7:15 p.m. Friday, March 9th at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 322 15th St. W in Bradenton. They Got Bailed Out, We Got Sold Out is a dramatized reading based on the mock trial of Goldman Sachs, which was presented at Occupy Wall Street in November by journalist, author and war correspondent Chris Hedges and author, philosopher and civil rights activist Cornel West. The Occuplayers are the arts and culture working group of Occupy Bradenton.
The play names the government officials responsible for the economic breakdown. It shows the devastating effect on the third world of banks gambling on commodity prices. It discloses corporate plans to destroy public education. And it exposes the greed behind the prison industrial complex.
