Fire Tears Through Bradenton Apartment Complex Wednesday: Report

Bradenton police said that multiple families were displaced by a fire at an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon.

BRADENTON, FL — Firefighters are battling a blaze at a Bradenton apartment complex Wednesday afternoon, according to multiple reports.

At least 16 apartments were destroyed in the fire that tore through the VIEW Carlton Arms apartment complex, according to WTSP. The wind caused the flames to spread quickly.

The two-alarm fire, which broke out around 3 p.m., is about 90 percent contained, WFLA reported.

Most of the top floor units in the building affected by the fire are completely destroyed, Bradenton fire Chief Tim Geer told media outlets. Many of the first-floor units will likely have water damage, he added.

Some residents were evacuated because of the fire and the Red Cross is on the scene to help them, according to ABC 7.

While no people were injured in the fire, some animals died, reports said.

Bradenton Police Department is at the apartment complex providing traffic control support but didn’t have any additional details to share with Patch.

On its Facebook page, the agency said multiple families were displaced by the fire.
