First Sprouts Grocery Store Opening Soon In Manatee County

A new Sprouts Farmers Market opens in June in Bradenton. Aldi's, Trader Joe's and Detwiler's also have new stores planned in Manatee County.

BRADENTON, FL — Manatee County’s first Sprouts Farmers Market will open its doors to shoppers this summer.

The new supermarket will open June 30 at 1149 Cortez Road W. in Bradenton at the U.S. Highway 41 intersection, according to the company’s website.

A hiring event will take place May 17 at the location. The store is hiring deli clerks, grocery clerks, meat/seafood clerks, department managers, assistant department managers, cashiers, courtesy clerks, receivers, administrative coordinators and scan coordinators.

This is the second Sprouts in the greater Sarasota-Manatee area. The first store is located in south Sarasota in Pelican Plaza at 8330 S. Tamiami Trail.

Sprouts is the latest grocer to announce new stores in Manatee County, which has seen significant population growth in recent years. From April 1, 2020, to July 1, 2022, the county saw a 7.4 percent increase in residents with 429,000 people calling Manatee home, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Trader Joe’s will open its first store in the county and second in the Sarasota-Manatee region at 8473 Cooper Creek Blvd. in the University Park area.

Sarasota-based Detwiler’s Farm Market will expand into West Bradenton with its sixth location in the region. The grocer announced in February that it signed a lease for the 49,000-square-foot anchor space in the Marketplace West shopping center at the corner of 53rd Avenue and 34th Street.

And a second Aldi supermarket is coming to Lakewood Ranch, the Bradenton Herald reported. It will be located in the Manatee County side of the area on Crossland Trail, north of State Road 70 and east of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
