Frontier Communications Florida Woes Continue

Customers are still reporting problems a week after Frontier Communications took over Verizon's Florida accounts.

TAMPA, FL — Frontier Communication’s takeover of Verizon’s Florida accounts was no April Fools’ joke, but a week following the transfer many Sunshine State customers are wondering if it might have been.

Problems ranging from the loss of on-demand channels and missing previously purchased movies to a complete loss of all services – phone, cable and internet – continue to be reported daily on the Frontier Communications’ Facebook page. Some customers are also reporting continued issues in trying to set up their accounts so they can access bills.

“April 8 and still can’t access my account,” wrote one customer on Facebook Friday morning. “It doesn’t do any good to call because they all have the same answer, ‘I don’t know we are working on it.’”

A Tampa woman posted concerns Friday about missing channels.

“Still cannot get on demand to work or premium channels that I pay for,” she wrote. “Will you take the weeks of not working off my bill?”

Frontier customer service responded by requesting the woman call its 800 number.

Calling, another Tampa Bay area woman, chimed in just doesn’t work.

“I’ve been without ANY television all week,” she said. “At least 15 calls later and no help.”

Frontier Communications insists it’s working out the bugs, but continues to ask customers to be patient.

“We are working hard to finish the transition of all Video on Demand,” a message on its website’s homepage reads. “Many of the most popular titles are available using the Search function and the vast majority of titles, including any previously purchased titles, will be available by mid-April.”

Account migrations, the website notes, should be completed by Friday, April 8.
