FSU's Jameis Winston Out for 1st Half of Clemson Game

What do you think of the punishment?

Florida State University’s Seminoles will have to do without quarterback Jameis Winston for the first half of the school’s match-up against Clemson Saturday.

The quarterback was benched from the half after allegedly making “offensive and vulgar” statements about women, WFLA reported.

School officials announced the decision Wednesday, saying athletes are the school’s “most visible ambassadors.”

In an official statement, as reported by ABC, the school’s leaders went on to say athletes are “expected to uphold at all times high standards of integrity and behavior that reflect well upon themselves, their families, coaches, teammates, the Department of Athletics and Florida State University.”

Winston stands accused of shouting a lascivious comment on the school’s campus. He is also the focus of sexual assault complaint filed in 2012. The school is also under investigation by the Florida Department of Education for the way it handles sexual assault reports, WCTV reported.
