Garbage Man Killed On State Road 64 After Truck Rolls Over, Hits Pole: FHP
A garbage man was killed in Manatee County when his truck rolled over and hit a utility pole at S.R. 64 and Lena Road, FHP said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A garbage man was killed in Manatee County when the truck he was riding in rolled over and hit a utility pole Wednesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The truck, driven by a 24-year-old Bradenton man, was traveling west on State Road 64 approaching Lena Road around 12:40 p.m.
As he made a left turn onto Lena Road, the truck rolled onto its side, FHP said. The truck continued moving forward, colliding with a concrete curb, traffic control box and utility pole

The truck’s passenger, a 47-year-old Sarasota man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was seriously injured in the crash.
