Grandmother of Dead Bradenton 4-Year-Old Arrested

She was charged with failure to report child abuse following her grandson's death.

A 53-year-old Palmetto woman faces failure to report child abuse charges after her 4-year-old grandson was found dead Sunday, April 12.

Karla Kay Gray was charged Wednesday by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, according to TBO.

Gray’s grandson, Alexander Marr, was found dead at his home in the 700 block of 59th Avenue Terrace West in Bradenton. A preliminary Medical Examiner’s Office report states that Marr’s death was caused by injuries that are “unexplained,” the Bradenton Herald reported.

Alexander lived with his mother, Dianna Marr, 32, and her boyfriend Trevor Cardarelle, 25. Cardarelle is currently being held without bond in the Manatee County Jail for violation of probation after deput8ies found ammunition in the home, the Herald noted.

No charges have been filed in Alexander’s death as of yet.
