BRADENTON, FL — A wandering herd of cows made for a busy afternoon for officers, the Bradenton Police Department wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon.

“It was just an udder day on patrol until a herd of cattle moseyed out of their pasture and onto the lush grounds of a nearby neighborhood,” the agency wrote. “We thought perhaps the 911 caller was mi-steak-en, but it was true.”

The officers helped get the animals back home.

Our officers are no cow-ards, but know better than to try to moooove these bovines on our own,” police wrote. “Instead, we beefed up the perimeter and waited for their owners to arrive. All of the animals were ac-cow-nted for and safely returned home. And, yes, we’ve milked this post for all its worth.”
