Hit-And-Run Driver Sought In Ellenton U.S. 301 Crash: FHP
A motorcyclist was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on U.S. 301 Monday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said.
ELLENTON, FL — A Parrish man was critically injured by a hit-and-run driver in Ellenton Monday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Around 3:30 p.m., an SUV and a motorcyclist were both traveling east on U.S. 301, negotiating a left curve east of 45th Avenue East.
The SUV hit the motorcycle’s back end and drove away from the scene, continuing east on U.S. 301, FHP said.

The impact sent the motorcycle off the roadway. It overturned and came to a rest in the south shoulder of U.S. 301.
The driver, a 56-year-old man, was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the south shoulder, FHP said. He was brought to an area hospital in critical condition.

The SUV was described as a black Nissan 2008-2010 model with a Florida license plate, FHP said. It has damage on its front right side.
