Burglars entered the home of Bradenton attorney Edwin Mulock hours before his funeral. Police hope to identify the suspects.
BRADENTON, FL — Just hours before the funeral for Bradenton attorney Edwin “Eddie” Mulock, burglars broke into his home and stole several items, his family said.
Mulock, a triple organ transplant also known as the voice of Friday night Manatee High School football radio, died May 18 at 78, according to his obituary at Legacy.com. He also founded the Foundation for Dreams and Dream Oaks Camp for children with special needs.
Now, Bradenton police are asking the public to help identify the two suspects who entered his home in the 1200 block of 3rd Street E. on June 27 just after 2 a.m.

Surveillance video from inside the home shows that two men wearing medical gloves and masks forced their way inside through a sliding patio door, obscured the video of home security cameras, and stole small electronic devices and several silver bars, according to a Bradenton police news release. Mulock’s family reported the burglary just after 7 a.m. the day it happened.

“So instead of having a nice peaceful morning before putting Dad in his final resting place this morning, I received a phone call saying his house had been broken into and ransacked last night at 2 a.m.,” his son, Lance Plowman, shared on Facebook, according to the Bradenton Herald.
He told WFLA that the “house was destroyed” and that it made an already difficult day worse.
“It was hard, you know, for me because I’m sitting there doing cemetery stuff and I’m mad, that’s the worst part,” Plowman said. “I was mad at my dad’s funeral, not sad like I should have been.”
About 30 minutes after they broke into the home, a Volvo SUV was taken from another home on the same street, police said. The SUV was seen being driven from the neighborhood, following behind a second vehicle, a silver sedan, which is believed to be involved in the crimes.
That same day, around 3:15 a.m., the SUV was seen traveling south in the 2600 block of 1st Street W. It was found Saturday in the 1200 block of 3rd Street E.
The suspects are two men about 18 to 26 years old and about 5 feet, 9 inches or 5 feet, 10 inches tall, police said.
