LRHS drama director Roxane Caravan led the group and the four performances that were part of the event. The students performed, “Adventures of a Comic Book Artist” by Pat Lydersen, music by Wendy Woolf. It was under the group name of “American High School Theater Festival”, category of “musicals and opera” and the genre of comedy.
Senior Laura Vaccaro also attended the event. “The trip was an incredible experience with many opportunities, we got to explore and see so many historic places while we were there,” shared Vaccaro.
The students worked endlessly and tirelessly after school and during holiday breaks all during the 2018-19 school year for this experience. While managing other shows such as “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown: The Musical,” the students had to raise $6,000 to cover the expenses.
Senior Kenna Agnew said the practice definitely paid off.
The group also got to visit many historical landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, Edinburgh Castle and the Sterling Castle.
“The feeling of the trip was pretty magical,” added Vaccaro.
