Lakewood Ranch High students donate blood to save lives
Over 100 LRHS students donate at the school's latest blood drive.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Blood Drive Committee hosted a successful on-campus blood drive on Thursday.
The Committee partnered with Suncoast Blood Centers, an organization that donates blood to hospitals and those in need in the local area.

Over 120 students signed up to donate blood.
Suncoast Account Manager Terry Platt is proud of how many students are willing to donate.

“The community depends on the high schools to help Suncoast out, as we are in great need of blood donations. LRHS is one of our best high schools ever in terms of donations,” Platt said.
Committee communications director senior Spencer Boyer believes that this blood drive had a good turnout.

“I think this has been a very successful drive, and I hope we can continue our success with our next one,” Boyer said.
Committee adviser Rebekah Lester is surprised at how many students are willing to donate during the holiday season.
“This is the biggest donor turnout for the year so far. It’s wonderful that people consider donating during the holiday season,” Lester said.
“It’s truly a gift of life for people,” Lester added.
