Lemon Bay Playhouse to Present “Love Letters” at SCF Venice
SCF will host the Lemon Bay Playhouse production of A.R. Gurney's Pulitzer Prize nominated play "Love Letters" on Valentine's Day.
State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host the Lemon Bay Playhouse production of A.R. Gurney’s Pulitzer Prize nominated play “Love Letters” at 12:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, in the Selby Room, Building 800 at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.
The play chronicles a 50-year relationship of childhood friends. The friendship develops into a star-crossed romance and is told through a series of letters, postcards and correspondence that reflects the characters’ hopes, dreams, ambitions, victories, disappointments and defeats. The play’s simple staging lends itself to the performance at SCF Venice.
Jack Rabito will portray the conservative and dutiful character Andrew Makepeace Ladd III. Maureen Moran will play the troubled, wealthy and free-spirited Melissa Gardner. Rabito and Moran performed in “On Golden Pond” at the Lemon Bay Playhouse last spring.
