Local Firefighters Highlight Student Safety
Students returns to school Aug. 20, and fire-safety personnel will be out to remind motorists to drive safely.
It's countdown time, kids. School start for most Bradenton students on Monday.
Bradenton firefighters will be out in force to remind motorists to slow down and keep in mind that there will be a lot of youngsters on the road, in school buses and traveling with their families to school.
From 7:45-8:30 a.m., firefighters will be at five city schools, with lights on and awareness banners posted. They also will be greeting kids. How great is that?
The presence of emergency vehicles near school zones on busy roadways is a
clear reminder to drivers to slow down and be cautious of pedestrians.
This is the second year that the Bradenton Fire Department has participated.
Additional safety information for children and drivers can be found at "Back
to School Safety" in the "Safety Spotlight" section of www.safekids.org.
