While she was a Mustang, Hernandez had not initially planned on pursuing writing.
“I wanted to become a teacher until I was about 17. Then I started getting into writing,” she said. Joining “Mustangs Ahead” allowed Hernandez to explore her journalism abilities.

Due to her ability to focus on her interests, Hernandez decided that she wanted to be a videographer, not a teacher or journalist.
Hernandez’s favorite thing about being a videographer is how the job never stays the same. She describes how she gets to “work on something different every day; whether it’s filming a scene, recording a podcast episode, or flying drones.”
Creating a “television show like ‘Parks and Recreation’ or ‘The Good Place’” is the biggest goal of Hernandez.
Hernandez wants to share with all Mustangs her advice “is to put as much effort into your passion as possible.”
Additionally, she said working together is crucial, as it allows a person to network and move up in whatever they wish to pursue.
Hernandez explains how your peers “can help you, and you can help them.”
