Man Drowned In Pool During Party At FL Apartment Complex
A man whose friends said wasn't a strong swimmer drowned during a pool party at a Bradenton apartment complex, police said.
BRADENTON, FL — A man drowned in an apartment complex pull early Monday morning, the Bradenton Police Department said.
Tchaly Orphee, 27, was seen lying at the bottom of the pool at the Fountain Lake Apartments, 5620 Fountain Lake Circle, around 1:30 a.m.
About 25 people were swimming in the pool at the time.

His body was pulled onto the pool deck, where bystanders attempted CPR, police said.
Deputies and EMS arrived a few minutes later. He was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m.

Investigators found that a large group had gathered at the pool for a party, despite the pool area being officially closed and lacking any lights, police said.
Friends of the victim reported that he was not a strong swimmer and likely slipped underwater without anyone noticing, investigators said.
The investigation has revealed no signs of foul play, and the scene is consistent with an accidental drowning, according to BPD.
