Man Hit By 2 Cars Killed While Crossing US 41: FL Highway Patrol

A Bradenton man was hit by two cars and killed while crossing US 41 in Manatee County, Florida Highway Patrol said.

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton man died after being hit by two vehicles while crossing U.S. 41 in Manatee County Monday night, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 59-year-old was trying to cross the southbound lanes at 51st Avenue Drive W. around 9 p.m. at the time of the crash.

As he crossed, he was hit by the front of an SUV driven by a 31-year-old Bradenton woman, FHP said.

After this initial collision, he was hit by a car driven by a 79-year-old Bradenton man.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the agency said. The crash remains under investigation.

Neither driver, nor the SUV passenger — a 38-year-old Bradenton man — were injured in the crash.
