Man Overturns Into I-75 Retention Pond, Dies: FL Highway Patrol
A Bradenton man died after losing control of his SUV on I-75 and overturning into a retention pond near State Road 70, state troopers said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — An 86-year-old Bradenton man died Sunday afternoon after losing control of his SUV on Interstate 75 and overturning into a retention pond near State Road 70, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
He was driving south on the mile marker 217 exit ramp and lost control in the right curve of the road just after 5 p.m.
The man drove off the road into the grass median, hit a concrete culvert and overturned into a pond, FHP said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
