Manatee High School Needs Mascot; Any Suggestions?
The School District of Manatee County is asking residents to weigh in on the selection of a mascot for the school under construction.

PARRISH, FL -- Forget the Pirates, Mustangs, Hurricanes, Tigers, Bruins and Seminoles.
Those mascots are already taken by existing Manatee County High Schools. But there are thousands of other choices for mascots for the new North River High School in north Manatee County, opening in 2019-20.
The School District of Manatee County is asking residents to weigh in on the selection of a mascot for the school under construction at 11601 Erie Road.

Nominations will be accepted through July 31 and can be submitted three ways:
- Emailed to montgomeryj@manateeschools.net.
- Mailed to North River High School Mascot Nomination, School District of Manatee County, 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton 34205.
- Delivered in person to the School Support Center, 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
Any resident is invited to nominate a mascot but students of the school will have the final vote.

North River High School is the first new high school in Manatee County in more than a decade.
The 265,103-square-foot high school is designed to meet the needs of today’s 21st- century student with state-of-the-art technology and specialized career and technical education labs, including robotics, allied nursing, television broadcasting, agriculture and engineering, as well as the district’s first automotive technology academy.
