Detectives Say Suspect In September Shooting In Parrish 'Acted Carelessly': Sheriff
Shooting suspect "acted carelessly" when handling a gun that discharged, killed a woman at their Parrish home, sheriff's office said.
PARRISH, FL — More than a month after a 30-year-old woman was shot and killed in her Parrish home, manslaughter charges have been filed against a man she lived with.
In addition to facing a manslaughter with a firearm charge, Blake Meadows, 33, has also been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. He was arrested Thursday afternoon.
Detectives say that Meadows “acted carelessly when handling a handgun that discharged” and struck the woman in the neck Sept. 13, according to the sheriff’s office.
