Marauders Unveil 2011 Promotional Schedule

Bradenton Marauders fans will be treated to mini-bats, magnetic schedules, wrestling matches and $1 beers during the 2011 season.

The minor league club, a high Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, released its promotional schedule for the upcoming season Wednesday, a list that includes the popular MetroPCS Mondays ($1 unlimited concession items with a card that can be picked up at MetroPCS stores) and Thirsty Thursdays ($1 drink specials on drafts and sodas).

Wednesday nights will feature the new “Plunder Your Hunger!” promotion and baseball bingo. On Wednesday “Plunder Your Hunger!” nights, fans can purchase a wristband for only $5 to access a special all-you-can-eat menu all night long, the club said in a press release.

Also new in 2011: “Swashbucklers and Turnbuckles,” the Marauders' first-ever wrestling event, set for June 24.  The game will be followed by house matches from Florida Championship Wrestling, one of the training grounds for WWE.

Other promotions include:

• “Marty” Gras Night, April 15.
• ‘60s Night, featuring a groovy postgame concert from Yesterdaze, April 16.
• Children’s pregame Easter egg hunt on the field, April 23.
• Cinco de “Marty,” May 5.
• Bright House Networks Customer Appreciation Night, May 7.
• Bark in the Park, May 15 and Aug. 28.
• Latin Heritage Night, July 8.
• WingFest, Aug. 18.
• Three fireworks nights.

There are also four special promotions aimed at students and youth campers, with games starting at 10 a.m. on those days.
