McKechnie Field Hosts Rock Stars On Record-Breaking Day
Pirates set a season attendance mark at their star-studded home finale, a sellout win over the Rays attended by members of Bradenton's We The Kings.
More than any other sport, baseball is a game of records.
The Pittsburgh Pirates set one of their own Sunday.
The team hosted a sellout crowd of 6,583 on a sun-splashed Sunday afternoon at for its 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. That crowd boosted this year's home attendance to 88,003 — an all-time season record for the historic Bradenton stadium.

Among those at the stadium were members of Bradenton power-pop rock band , who just returned from touring the Phillippines, Indonesia and Australia and led the crowd in a performance of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch.
Travis Clark, the band's tattooed, red-haired frontman, said he was a little nervous before throwing out a ceremonial first pitch before the game between his two favorite teams.

"I'm literally sitting on the field," Clark said. "This is crazy. I'm going to get hit by a foul ball, I know it. That's how I'm going out."
