MLK Day of Service Projects a Success

SCF helped celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by sponsoring day of service projects to make a difference in communities.

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) helped celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by sponsoring day of service projects.

Dr. Carol Probstfeld helped deliver school supplies for those in need and met workers on a Habitat for Humanity project that SCF funded through the state legislature. The day of service projects are designed to transform the federal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. into a day on which people make a difference in their communities. SCF awarded nearly two dozen service grants totaling nearly $84,000 for projects throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties.
