Motorcyclist Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash In Cortez: FL Highway Patrol
A Bradenton motorcyclist was killed in a 3-vehicle crash on Cortez Road Tuesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
CORTEZ, FL — A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Cortez Tuesday afternoon, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
A 22-year-old Englewood woman driving an SUV hit the back of a pick-up truck and the side of the trailer it was towing just before 4 p.m. while she tried to turn left onto Cortez Road from 115th Street W.
The crash redirected the SUV into the path of the motorcyclist, which hit the right side of the SUV, FHP said.

The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old Bradenton man who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver and the truck driver and his passenger — a 54-year-old and a 44-year-old man, respectively, both of Bradenton — were uninjured.
