Murder-Suicide Investigated On Anna Maria Island: Report

A father found the bodies of his daughter and her roommate in their Anna Maria Island home Saturday, reports said.

ANNA MARIA ISLAND, FL — The Bradenton Beach Police Department is investigating a possible murder-suicide after a father found the bodies of his daughter and her roommate in their Anna Maria Island home, the Anna Maria Island Sun reports.

Police responded to the home of Sabrina Marie Dumdei, 37, and Zachary John Winton, 34, located in the 2500 block of Avenue C, around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities reportedly described the triplex as a “gruesome crime scene.”

According to Manatee County Clerk of Court records, Winton was arrested Sept. 1 for an Aug. 31 domestic violence incident. He was charged with felony domestic aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, simple battery and tampering with a witness.

The Sun reports that this incident involved Dumdei.

Court records indicate that Winton was also arrested for misdemeanor battery on Aug. 10. Charges were later dropped.

The Sun also reports that the couple on Friday closed on the sale of the triplex where the possible murder-suicide took place.

Bradenton Beach Police have been contacted for additional information as this investigation continues.
