(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Mustangs are getting the results from the recent National Latin Vocabulary Exam.
The exam tests students on Latin vocabulary at their course level. The scoring isn’t directly competitive; multiple students could score bronze, silver, or gold depending on their testing scores.

LRHS offers four levels of Latin: Latin 1, Latin 2, Latin 3 honors, and AP Latin. All four are taught by Stefania Mitzithras.
Sophomores Olivia Miller and Quinn Mitchel are taking the Latin 2 course and both scored Bronze on the exam.

Miller said, “I felt pretty confident when I was taking it, although there were a few words I had never seen before. For those words, I tried to find English words derived from them to figure it out.”
Sophomore Jonathan Borntreger is currently a student Latin 1 and scored Silver on the exam.
Freshmen Camila Kassner and Kenneth Marschner are also students in Latin 1 and ranked Bronze.
