MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Funding is still available through Manatee County’s Neighborhood Enhancement Grant program.

Applications for the grants are accepted on a rolling basis. Homeowner associations and other resident-based groups are encouraged to submit their requests for project funding.

So far this year, seven neighborhood projects were approved for funding by the county, Makayla Lindecamp, a neighborhood services specialist, shared in a blog post.

“A major purpose of the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program is to facilitate an increased sense of pride and engagement through neighbors coming together to enhance and beautify their space, whether it be adding a little library, installing Florida-friendly landscaping or taking part in a leadership workshop,” Lindecamp wrote.

Organizations approved for funding will receive up to $10,000 for their projects. Community groups are asked to match grants higher than $1,000.

Groups must document their work and submit photographs and reports to the county. All projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving funding.
