New Gun Range Coming to Manatee County?
Shoot Straight Inc. has filed an application to open an indoor range and retail shop.

Manatee County residents may soon have a new place to practice their firing skills if Shoot Straight’s plans to build an indoor range are approved.
The company wants to transform the former Engulf House of Prayer property on University Parkway into an indoor range and retail center, the Bradenton Herald reported. In order for the plans to come to fruition, Shoot Straight will have to gain a thumbs up from planners and the county commission. The land will also have to be rezoned.
Shoot Straight owns a number of Bay area ranges and retail centers, including stores in Tampa and Clearwater. The business has been around since 1979, according to its website. It claims to be among the top 1 percent of firearms dealers in the county.
