Paralegal Program at SCF, Manatee-Sarasota To Host Open House

The Paralegal Program at SCF will host an open house 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy E.

The Paralegal Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host an open house 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy E., Center for Innovation and Technology, Room 116/117.

SCF’s Paralegal Program provides instruction from experienced attorneys and paralegals. Paralegals perform substantive and procedural legal work. Lawyers delegate many tasks to the paralegals who assist them with their work, which may include helping to prepare for real estate closings, interviews, hearings, mediation, trials and corporate meetings, and draft discovery, correspondence, and pleadings.

Flexible course scheduling, hands-on experience and internships are available. Certificate and degree courses are available. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, paralegal job openings are expected to grow by 8 percent by 2024. The median salary is $48,000.

The open house will provide new and prospective students a chance to meet and speak with paralegal faculty, current students and alumni. Snacks and beverages will be served.
