A driver hit a man who was lying on Manatee Avenue E. Thursday, Bradenton police said. Officers don't know how he got there or how he died.
BRADENTON, FL — A man was found dead in the road late Thursday night, according to a Bradenton Police Department news release.
A driver called 911 just before 11:30 p.m. to report that she hit a man who was lying in the road on Manatee Avenue E. at 19th Street E.
Initially, investigators thought the man was a victim of a hit-and-run crash involving another vehicle, police said. They’ve since determined that there was no hit and run and that the woman who called 911 was not involved in criminal conduct.
