Pedestrian Killed In U.S. 41 Crash In Bradenton Early Tuesday: FHP

A woman died after being hit by an SUV while walking along U.S. 41 in Bradenton early Tuesday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said.

BRADENTON, FL — A woman walking along U.S. 41 in Bradenton died after being hit by an SUV early Tuesday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 26-year-old Bradenton resident was walking north in the left turn lane, south of Cortez Road, around 2:20 a.m. when she was hit by the SUV, FHP said.

The driver, a 34-year-old Palmetto woman, was heading north in the U.S. 41 left turn lane at the time of the crash.

The pedestrian was brought to a hospital in the area and later pronounced dead, FHP said. Neither the SUV driver nor her passenger, a 31-year-old Bradenton woman, suffered any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
