Peek-A-Boo Lounge Told to Watch its Sign Language
The Bradenton strip club is under fire for using offensive language on its marquee sign.

The battle between Manatee County and a Bradenton strip club is heating up once more as spicy language on an outdoor sign has raised a red flag.
Resident Craig Mezzullo complained about the Peek-A-Boo Lounge’s choice of wording, which was described as derogatory to women, back on Aug. 3, the Bradenton Herald reported. By the time the county went out to investigate, however, the offensive statement had been removed.
A fight between the county and 14th Street West strip club has been ongoing since 1999 when the county adopted a nudity ordinance, effectively making the club’s location illegal.

Legal maneuvers have been ongoing ever since and the club has been allowed to operate in the interim.
While it will be up to a judge to ultimately decide if Peek-A-Boo can keep its current location, the county says it can do something about spicy language on its marquee. Residents who spot offensive or vulgar wording on any sign can take a picture and email it to the county’s Code Enforcement Office, Commissioner Robin DiSabatino told the Herald. The email address is code.enforcement@mymanatee.org.
