(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Peer tutoring has been going on for two weeks now at Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS), and participants say it is a success so far.

LRHS Peer Tutoring adviser Rebekah Lester said, “So far we have 23 eager tutors that have experience and have been through screening. The tutors are always ready and waiting. One thing we do differently is accept appointments. Twenty students have come over the past two weeks to be tutored for many different subjects. The kids get matched up with tutors in the area they need.”

Senior peer tutor Cole Clark said, “I love being a tutor, it’s very fun and helps me engage with other students. In addition, being a tutor is a good opportunity to get service hours. I’m excited about doing this so I can put it on my college applications.”

Senior Rylan Buck stated, “Tutoring is very fun and easy. I really enjoy being a tutor and helping out the other students. It also is giving me the community service hours I need.”
